About Whisker & Wag
Whisker & Wag exists for pet owners with specific problems — a cat who destroys the couch, a puppy who won’t stop biting, a dog with a sensitive stomach no food seems to fix. The big pet sites give generic “best overall” lists. This site answers the actual question you’re asking.
What “researched pick” means here
Honesty is the whole business model, so here’s the exact standard — no fine print:
- “Tested” on this site means hands-on evaluated in real home conditions with real pets. If an article claims testing, it describes what was done.
- “Compiled pick” = the top-rated option for a specific problem across verified buyer reviews and trusted pet communities. Most product roundups on this site are compiled picks unless the article states otherwise, plainly.
- What we don’t claim: we do not claim veterinary credentials. Health topics cite vet guidance and reputable sources. When in doubt, we tell you to ask your vet — because some questions genuinely need one.
How picks are made
- Start from the problem, not the product. Litter odor in a studio apartment. A puller who chafes. A budget that can’t stretch to premium prices.
- Verify facts. Ingredients checked, dimensions recorded, vet guidance consulted on health topics.
- Aggregate real reviews. Verified-buyer reviews across retailers, looking for recurring praise and recurring complaints.
- Price-check at publish time. Prices move; we note the check date.
Corrections
Products change, formulas get revised, and research can miss things. If a pick is wrong, outdated, or mispriced, we fix it — and the article’s update date reflects the fix. Corrections welcome anytime.
